Some thoughts from our NSA teens...

Sometimes, teenswho stutter feel that there is nobody else who understands, that there is nobody who has been where they are. That's where the NSA comes in.

By participating in NSA events, like the Annual Conference and Local Chapter Meetings, you can meet other teens who have been where you are. They understand what you're going through, and sometimes, just knowing that somebody else understands can make it a little easier.

You can also read stories written by other teens who stutter...by hearing about their experiences, you can get ideas about things that may help you. This section of the website contains a sample of stories written by other teens who've been through it. Take a look and let us know what you think. Write to us at stories@WeStutter.org. We'd like to hear from you!

You can also get more stories and examples from our Newsletters. Here are just a couple of comments to get you started:

"The NSA means different things to different people. To me it has meant a place to go once a year and just relax with a bunch of people who are going through the same thing that i am. I've learnt much, and also taught much. I feel that the relationship that i have with the NSA is symbiotic in that it is impossible to give and not receive as well. If anyone were to ask me where I most enjoyed being each summer, my answer would undoubtedly be at the NSA conferences having a blast with all the friends I’ve made over the past three years."

-- Jay Jones-Doyle, NSA Teen Member of the Year, 2002

"The magic that happens at NSA conventions is what draws people back from year to year.  It's what ties us together as people who stutter"

-- Dan Kremer, NSA Teen Member of the Year, 2003
