Wants to get involved with the NSA? Here's how:
We encourage you to become a supporter of the National Stuttering Association by contributing through a monthly pledge, annual contribution, or by participating in one of our fund drives. Your contributions are tax-deductible. NSA supporters are people who believe in what the NSA is doing, have been helped by our programs and are “paying it forward” by contributing to our work. There are two ways to become a member or an active supporter.
We depend on contributors for most of our financial support. Even though the NSA is the largest support organization in the world for people who stutter, we’re a mostly volunteer nonprofit that receives no government funds and few grants.
-
For many of us, a NSA chapter meeting was the first time we had ever talked about stuttering with other people who stutter. Local support groups are a proven way to build self-confidence, practice speaking in a safe environment and explore new ways to cope with stuttering. Chapter meetings are open to those who stutter, parents/significant others/friends of stutterers, speech language pathologists (SLPs), or anyone that wants to learn more about stuttering.
-
Our annual conferences bring together hundreds of persons who stutter, their familes, and leading experts in the field of stuttering for four days of fun and edication. There are numerous things to look forward to such as inspiring interactive workshops, motivational speakers, local tours and excursions, and countless opportunities to network with fellow stutterers and speech-language pathologists.
